The Creative Curriculum
Mi Casa es su Casa believes that a safe and healthy nurturing learning environment and adult interaction are important prerequisites for a child’s growth and development.
Our program is designed according to the child’s age and promotes the development of the child’s physical, cognitive, social, and emotional growth, as well as language skills, through the formation of responsive, caring, and trusting relationships between the teachers and children. Promoting a positive self-image is our goal because we believe this is the basis of success in all areas of development.
To accomplish our goal, Mi Casa es su Casa uses The Creative Curriculum for Family Child Care for planning and implementing a program that is responsive to the children and families it serves. This curriculum is built upon a solid foundation of developmental theory and early education research and the belief that each activity, routine, or experience is a chance to educate and expand upon what your child already knows about his or her world. Therefore, we encourage children to play, explore, and learn at their own pace rather than primarily focusing on the learning of letters, numbers, colors, etc. or teaching them “how much” they can know about their own world.
Our program’s environment is designed to accomplish the goals of our curriculum. Our classroom is divided into different areas of learning activities such as dramatic play, blocks, toys, arts, books, kitchen, music and movement, sand and water, and outdoor play. Our children have an established regular daily schedule to guide them throughout the day and to help them stimulate their optimum learning processes during their early childhood.
